The Tv show Supernatural is about two brothers Sam and Dean Winchester who travel across the U.S. hunting down various monsters, while also searching for the monster that killed their mother. The show was created by Eric Kripke and has been on the air since 2005 totalling 11 seasons on the WB/CW network. Over the past ten seasons the show has evolved from the two brothers hunting down the monster that killed their mother, to a great complex thriller still popular after 10 years. Although the show can seem a bit dark with its subject matter and humor it is careful to not let it become too dark. In many of the early episodes of the show it took on mainly pagan and mythological themes, but quickly turned its focus to mostly Christian themes. In regards to its focus on christian themes the show takes a mainly Judo-Chirstian stance on religion and refrences to a Judo-Christian apocalypse. Although the main focus is on christian themes there are also topics from other religons represented on the show such as Hinduism. Although it features many religious themes it far from being a show about religion.  

On this webpage I will explore a few religous themes explored on the show, these themes include monsters/ spirits, angels/demons, as well as human cases. A look at certain characters in the show and how they relate to the central theme will also be featured.  I will explore these themes through the central argument of good vs evil. This argument will take on a mainly christain prespective since the shows religous topics are also mainly christian. Supernatural has many different sides to it and each one is as interesting as the next, many aspects of this show feature my main argument of good vs evil in some capacity. Any charcter on supernatural is not fully good or evil with each one containing some characteristics linking them to good and evil. The line between good and evil is sometimes not ever fully defined in the world of supernatural. Also a look at the representation of other religons in the show will be explored.
